Within AILU the organisation of the biennial 2-day ILAS (Industrial Laser Applications Symposium) event (12 & 13 March 2013 at the Nottingham Belfry, see AILU events page) is now well underway.

There will be sessions on welding and cutting, additive manufacture and marking; and this time we are including technology review sessions on these processes (as well as technical session aqddressing recent developments), so especially if you are thinking of expanding your laser activities in these areas you may wish to attend.

There are also going to be business sessions, which are sure to address funding possibilities for technology transfer: Laser jobshops are major providers of technology transfer in the UK, so there may be opportunities for you here too. Whilst there is still plenty of time before the event, the deadline for registering your interest in making a presentation (24 September 2012) is fast approaching so please give some thought to making a submission and/or a suggestion for a topic or a presenter you would like to hear.
