i am having problems with how we nest our jobs together.
can you explain how you nest your jobs together.
say we have a load of 3mm we nest it all as a big job but some times
this dont work if a customer comes on for a certain job.
if i nest each job as an individual then there will a lot of waste.

Hi Martin

I see you haven't had any responses to this question. How about submitting this question on the AILU Technical Forum, where software developers will see it?

I have read this message a number of times but I am still not sure what reply is required!

We will gather together all the 3mm mild steel jobs upto a time cut-off, say we anticipate cutting first job on Weds morning, the program needs to be ready Tues night so our cut-off is say Tues lunchtime. Any more 3mm mild steel after Tues Lunchtime goes into the next batch.

There is another scenario where we set a production plan on a machine to cut say 50 parts in 3mm mild steel using 30 sheets. In this case we have priced the job to only cut the 1500 parts, however, if we have spare material and a customer orders 3mm mild steel components we can add these to our program, the parts are cut from 'free material'.

Does this answer the question?
