Laser Process news

A sculpture by artist Neil Wood has been unveiled at the premises of Laser Process Ltd, in Cannock. The piece called ‘Out of Darkness' is representative of a blacksmith cutting an anvil with a laser beam and is an analogy of new technology taking over from the old.

Made entirely of stainless steel it is one of several pieces by Neil Wood that have been commissioned and erected in the Stafford/Cannock area over the last two years.

Laser Process managing director, David Lindsey states "I first met Neil Wood when working on a project with CHAPS (chase art in public spaces) for a mining heritage statue in Queens Square, Cannock. I had always wanted ‘something special' in front of our premises and meeting Neil gave me the impetus to take it forward."

The name ‘Out of Darkness' was suggested by David Lindsey's wife, Su.
