Work Starts at RE Cooke New Factory

RE Cooke is due to relocate from its current site in Shobnall Street, Burton-on-Trent, into a new purpose-built £1.2 million factory in nearby Stretton Business Park in February 2007. Baggaley Construction in Mansfield has been appointed to be the construction partner. The building, which is due to be completed by December 2006, will increase production floor space from 23,000 sq ft to 25,000 sq ft.

"We continue to invest heavily in new machinery to increase the quality and precision engineering of our metal cutting operations for customers in all sorts of industries and our new premises will house new laser and paint shop facilities," RE Cooke Managing Director Harvey Cooke explained.

The new factory will house £900,000 worth of investment in new state-of-the-art machinery including a new laser cutting machine and an automated paint plant.

"These are obviously exciting times for the company and, although it will be sad to leave the factory where we have operated for the past 40 years – it is important that we invest in the future to stay one step ahead of the competition in this industry worldwide," said Mr Cooke.
