SPI news

SPI Lasers, a leading designer and manufacturer of fiber lasers, today announced that the Company has appointed Jack Gabzdyl and Andrew Appleyard to the positions of Product Line Manager for Pulsed Lasers and High Power Laser Systems respectively, following the successful launch of both G3 pulsed lasers and the R4 system platform.  The Product Line Managers will drive the rapid uptake of the new lasers by the customer base and spearhead the new product introduction for 2008.

David Parker, Chief Executive Officer of SPI Lasers, welcomed the promotions; “I am delighted to announce the promotion of Andy Appleyard to ‘Product Line Manager for High Power Laser Systems’ and Jack Gabzdyl to ‘Product Line Manager for Pulsed Lasers’.  I expect Andy & Jack to improve on our existing reputation for a high standard of customer service”.

SPI Lasers announced a new MOPA-based pulsed fiber laser and the R4 System products in Munich in the summer of 2007. Shortly after, in September 2007, SPI announced an extension to its pulsed laser product range for marking solutions.  These products have seen such interest that SPI Lasers has printed a shortform brochure available from SPI Lasers on request.

SPI’s lasers are already used commercially for a wide range of marking applications including cutting, precision welding and marking. SPI Lasers have not fully exhausted the list of potential applications for fiber lasers and are inviting organisations, such as device and component manufacturers, academic institutions and system integrators from around the globe to submit their own application specific trials.  Each application will be assessed on a case by case basis for proof of principle. If approved, it will be provided at no cost to the applicant.

Requesting a proof of principle is the fast track way to conduct application trials.  In addition, SPI offer a try before you buy program and SPI provides a progressive program to support academic & not for profit research centres.

Both the proof of concept and try before you buy programs mentioned here can be found by clicking on the SPI web site at http://www.spilasers.com/  and registering your details.
