New head of finance at Trumpf

A man who is both a law graduate and chartered accountant with over twenty years experience has recently been appointed the new Financial Controller for Trumpf Limited. Simon Binns joined the Luton-based sheet metalworking company at the end of 2008, replacing Paul Valentine who has now retired.

Simon has spent the majority of his career working for US corporations in the manufacturing and aerospace sectors. He has been engaged in both mainstream financial roles and in operational management with a particular focus on sales. His wide-ranging experience includes reporting, forecasting, acquisitions and contract negotiations and most recently Simon was responsible for a multi-site SAP implementation.

Speaking about his move to Trumpf Simon explained that the financial stability of the company attracted him. “I also like the business model of selling equipment on technical merit,” he said. “The facility and the people at the TRUMPF Technology Centre in Luton really impressed me.”
