Sheet metal - from concept to finished product

First published in 1996, ‘Fascination of Sheet Metal’ has become a valuable reference work for designers and production engineers alike. Its foreword gives a taster of the scope of this material. A stainless steel teapot, a cash register, a pair of glasses, a cruise ship, a jet turbine and hands of a watch – as one of its author’s Professor Leibinger says, “Sheet metal is a material with limitless possibilities.”

To accommodate new advances in manufacturing technology however the title has now been completely revised. This hard-backed book still takes the reader the entire length of the process chain from design concept to finished part. But this second edition also embraces new processes and techniques. In particular it acknowledges the huge strides that have been made in laser processing.
