Overnight Dependability

Automated work, which is gaining in importance and sophistication, will be one of Trumpf’s highlights at this year’s Euroblech. Trumpf will present new solutions for all technologies, such as efficient laser cutting of varying sheet thicknesses – the primary task of the TruLaser 3030 – in booth (C32/1-3) in Hall 11.

Full automation in small spaces
To demonstrate its efficiency in a lights out operation, in October 2010 Trumpf will launch its PalletMaster Tower, an affordable, process-reliable entry into automation The pallet changer, with an integrated intermediate buffer, was developed by Frumpf Japan. It converts the TruLaser 3030 into a complete automation cell. It can be controlled using the laser’s standard software, saving and processing different material types fully automatically.

The PalletMaster Tower, which can be installed in as little as a week, is designed for sheet formats of up to 3 x 1.5 meters and sheet thicknesses of 0.8 to 25 mm; it is available for 6, 10, 15 or 20 pallets. While it is hardly larger than a regular pallet changer, it can be up to six meters high, depending on the number of pallets stacked on top of each other. Since all sheets and cut panels are on separate pallets, even sensitive materials will be safe from scratches.

6-kW laser for even more flexibility
When it comes to processing different materials, the TruLaser 3030 offers yet another innovation: As of the Euroblech show, it will also be available with a sturdy 6-kW CO2 laser. This will make it faster compared to the current 5-kW version – up to 10 percent for construction steel and 15 percent for stainless steel. But it will also increase the flexibility of the laser, allowing even thicker sheets to be cut. And all this while maintaining the typical TruLaser 3030 conditions such as high axis speeds, laser with optimized standby mode and single cutting head strategy – all of which have proven themselves time and again since the product was launched at
the end of 2008.
