Pro-Lite provides CE certified active laser safe window from Laservision for high power diode-, YAG-, fibre- and disc laser

Rapid advancement of laser technology is making laser safety more important now than ever before. New laser applications in medicine, defence, research and industry present unique safety challenges for safety and personal protection.

With commonly used filter materials, it is difficult to achieve laser safety to industry standards due to the constantly increasing laser power and beam quality of modern disc and fibre lasers. In order to ensure the safety of the user, such systems are mostly used in automated production lines with admission control or inside locked laser cells.

Active Safety Concept
Most users prefer the integration of laser safety windows into a system enclosure, in order to allow visual process monitoring. However in most cases common laser safety windows do not reach the protection rating required for beam quality and power density of the used lasers.

Yet, the new patented active cabinet window from Laservision solves this problem simply by implementing electronics into the safety circuit of the laser system so that, in the instance of a laser beam hitting the window and sufficient radiation impacting the sensor in the window frame, the laser will be shut down immediately before radiation leaks through the window. In addition the system is totally insensitive against scattered and processes light.

This offers the user a complete, CE certified safety system, which is in accordance to mechanical engineering regulations. In combination with active barrier systems, it is also a certifiable safety solution for industrial high power laser installations in the wavelength range of between 820-1080 nm is available.

In close cooperation with Laservision, Pro-Lite are happy to support you and to answer your questions related to the active safety concept. For more information, please do not hesitate to contact Pro-Lite directly on +44 (0)1234 436110.
