Bystronic Laser at the heart of new venture

A new manufacturing venture offering high precision laser cut metal profiles has opted to purchase a brand new Bystronic Bysprint Pro laser to run at the heart of its operations.

Based in Stanton near Ilkeston FC Laser Ltd is offering a laser cut profile service up to 3M x 1.5M in size and profiled in mild and stainless steel up to 20mm thick or 12mm aluminium.

As director of FC Laser Ltd, Danny Fantom explains, as a new start up venture purchasing a new laser as opposed to used was always the preferred option.
“Our aim is to offer a world class service to all customers in terms of a rapid response to enquiry, quick delivery and a reliable service. Of course we will also be extremely competitive in the market. We did consider starting with a used machine but didn’t believe we would be able to give the service and accuracy we wanted to offer from day one.

“As a result, we approached a number of potential suppliers but decided to purchase the Bystronic. I have worked with Bystronic previously, having run three of their laser machines without problems and soon established that they still remain market leaders for high performance and low running costs. Being locally based in Coventry Bystronic offer their customers both a reliable service and quick response to problems, both being qualities that reflect our customer focus at FC Laser,” he adds.

The processing speed of the new 4.4kW, £450,000 Bysprint Pro is extremely fast with instantaneous piercing up to 10mm steel and acceleration times between holes that give unbeatable part cut times.

To complement its Bysprint Pro investment, FC Laser also took delivery of several seats of Bysoft machine programming and estimation software, again with the purpose of offering a quick response to customer enquiries and giving optimised cutting times to keep quotes competitive for their customers.
Response to FC Laser’s service and quality has been highly encouraging, so much so that a second Bystronic machine has been ordered for delivery in the autumn of 2012.

FC Laser operates from new 1,000 square metre purpose built premises comprising production and plate storage and modern offices and is situated half way between Derby and Nottingham with corresponding excellent infrastructure and communications
