BOFA international Ltd honoured with The Queens Award for Enterprise

Poole based manufacturer BOFA International Ltd has been honoured with the UK’s most prestigious business accolade The Queens Award for Enterprise.

The Duke of Kent flew into Dorset on Tuesday 23rd October 2012 to present the award, which recognises the company’s outstanding achievements in overseas sales.

During the visit HRH was shown a presentation on the history of the company before receiving a guided tour of the manufacturing facility. The Duke was particularly interested to learn how new product concepts transfer through the R&D stage into full production and took the time to stop and speak to staff throughout the tour of the factory which employs 120 workers.

The company was started by David Cornell in 1987 and is run as a family business with his two sons Christian and Lawrence Cornell. BOFA design, develop and manufacture extraction and filtration equipment for a variety of industries including those associated with laser coding, marking, cutting and engraving, where their extensive knowledge and expertise in the field of pharmaceuticals, food and beverage, promotions and education has enabled the company to develop a broad range of associated product solutions.

The latest in a line of new product releases has been the BOFA iQ operating system, which provides laser users with a host of feature benefits designed to optimise extraction performance and reduce maintenance downtime.

All products are manufactured in Great Britain and exported to over 100 countries worldwide, with export sales accounting for 80% of revenue. Combined with their subsidiary company BOFA Americas, BOFA has a group annual turnover of over 12 million.
