Leibinger resigns as Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the TRUMPF Group. Succeeded by Hambrecht.

Professor Berthold Leibinger retired as Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the TRUMPF Group at the end of 2012. Dr. Jürgen Hambrecht, former Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the BASF SE, has been elected his successor by the Supervisory Board of the TRUMPF Group.

Leibinger had a long and close association with the TRUMPF company, which he joined in 1950 as an apprentice mechanic. After studying mechanical engineering at Stuttgart Technical University and working for two years in the USA, Leibinger returned to TRUMPF in 1961 as the company's Chief Designer. In 1964 he became Technical Manager and Partner, and in 1978 took over as President. In 2005 he handed over operational responsibility to his daughter Nicola Leibin¬ger-Kammüller.

Ever since he joined management and gradually acquired the company, TRUMPF sales grew from 5.4 million Euro to 2.33 billion Euro in fiscal 2011/2012.

In addition to his corporate functions, Leibinger also held a series of honorary positions. From 1985 to 1990, for example, he was President of the Stuttgart Chamber of Trade and Industry, and until 1992 he was President of the German Engineering Federation (VDMA). He has received numerous honours and awards for his entrepreneurial as well as social commitment.

For over 35 years, Jürgen Hambrecht was active worldwide for BASF in differing capacities, most recently as Chairman of the company's Supervisory Board from 2003 to 2011. Additionally Hambrecht is a Partner of the Robert Bosch Industrietreuhand KG, a member of the supervisory boards of Daimler AG and Lufthansa AG, and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Fuchs Petrolub AG.

In the course of this transition, Leibinger has increased the stake of the Berthold Leibinger Foundation in the company from 3.8 percent to 5 percent. Berthold Leibinger remains a partner of the TRUMPF GmbH + Co. KG.
