Barrett Steel opens up Scottish Market with a new Sales Office in West Lothian

Barrett Steel Limited, part of the Barrett Steel Group, has committed to developing the market in Scotland with the opening of a new sales office in Bathgate, West Lothian. The new office will promote both the General Steels and the Tubes Divisions of Barrett Steel and will complement the existing service centres in Scotland, which are dedicated to Engineering Steels.

Tony Corrie, Business Development Manager, explains how the Bathgate office will act as a springboard for development: "One of the aims of the new office is to repeat Barrett's successes south of the border and in Ireland. We recognise the huge potential in Scotland, particularly for our Tubes Division through our Precision Tubes, Lasertube and Barrett Offshore brands. We will also focus on project supply of General Steels for large structural fabricators through our Barrett Constructional Steel business."

Tony Corrie and Sales Executive, Alan Petrie, who currently organise deliveries three times a week throughout Scotland, have been involved in the steel industry for a number of years and are familiar figures with Scottish customers. Tony Corrie continues: "Our strength lies in knowledge of the market in Scotland and a ‘local' presence within the community, backed by the UK's largest independent steel stockholder. The result is a wide product range with access to additional materials through the supply chain network."

Barrett's expertise is not limited to stockholding. Ongoing investment in its in-house capabilities, such as laser tube profiling, tube manipulation, saw cutting, drilling and shot blasting & painting ensure that the company has the flexibility to deal with a variety of projects, helping customers to identify opportunities and solutions.
