Trumpf UK on track for another record year

The Trumpf financial year runs from July to June and the company has not only confirmed steady growth since the summer of this year but also its highest order intake ever in November. This was the month when the company exploded the myth that solid state laser is only suitable for thin sheet.

With its launch of BrightLine fiber technology Trumpf has now become the only manufacturer in the world to offer a truly universal solid state 2D laser machine for processing all sheet thicknesses.

Indeed, one of the nine fibre laser machines ordered in the UK during this bumper month was a TruLaser 5030 with BrightLine fiber. And although this technology clearly encroaches on the traditional applications for CO2, Frumpf also secured orders for four of these machines too. This technology remains the best choice for the higher powered laser processing of exotic materials and other applications.

The total order intake for November was for 22 units, putting Trumpf firmly on track for another record year in 2013 – 2014.

Although the results were not as spectacular, the previous trading year was also noteworthy. Turnover was recorded at £39 million, a reduction of 9% on 2010 – 2011, but it was nevertheless the second best for Trumpf in the UK.

Trumpf Group sales are also in the ascendancy. They increased to 2.4 billion Euros worldwide in 2012 – 2013, the Group’s highest sales figure in its 90 year history. And as Trumpf UK enters its 40th year of trading, it has never been in better shape with its long term stability underpinned by a family run business whose ethos is long term investment.
