Pressbrakes feature at Bystronic open house

Sheet metalworking machine supplier, Bystronic UK, welcomed over 80 visitors to its latest open house, held at the company's Coventry headquarters and technical centre from 16th to 18th September 2014. The focus this time was on the company’s range of pressbrakes, with a morning presentation each day explaining the productivity, accuracy and repeatability advantages of the machines and programming software.

Particular mention was made of the manufacturer’s pressure reference technology with fully automatic, dynamic crowning, which removes inaccuracies caused by changes in material grain flow, thickness and bond length to give full-length and consistent bends. Visitors also heard how a worldwide database of bending knowledge, which is continually being updated with additional material characteristics and parameters, allows even novice users to obtain professional results when folding components.

A further presentation was made to show how the company’s Bysoft 7 software allows cutting and folding programs to be produced effortlessly from customers’ CAD files. Only six mouse clicks are needed from the 3D data file to the finished part and there is an option that enables the most important pressbrake operations to be executed by voice command.

Afternoon sessions looked at the range of other innovative machines and technology being demonstrated. They included a BySprint Fiber 4 kW fibre laser profiling machine, a ByAutonom 6 kW CO2 laser cell with full automation and a ByJet Smart waterjet cutting machine, as well as Bystronic software, plate storage, CNC plate rolls and a deburring machine for plate and sheet metal parts.
