The power of light - for every application the right laser source

ROFIN is continuing to develop its product portfolio for the cutting market, offering higher cutting performances for thicker sheet metals. At this year’s EuroBLECH in Hanover (21 to 25 October 2014), ROFIN presented high-performance laser beam sources for the entire spectrum of industrial laser cutting applications. Besides the new CO2 Slab laser with 6 kW cutting power, which will be celebrating its debut at the EuroBLECH, ROFIN showed an equally powerful fibre laser as well a 4 kW fibre laser out of its Compact series. Visitors to the trade fair are invited to learn which laser beam source is best suited to their specific application.

More Power for Cutting
ROFIN exhibited at this year’s EuroBLECH two lasers out of the two leading technologies with 6 kW output power each – the CO2 Slab laser DC 060 as well as the fibre laser FL 060 – thus extending its range of laser beam sources for the industrial laser cutting market.

ROFIN’s CO2 Slab Lasers are used in manufacturing sites all over the world due to their high reliability, low maintenance and superior beam quality. Like all products of the DC Series, the new 6 kW cutting laser operates with only a few extremely durable components and do not require conventional gas recirculation – leading to a considerable reduction of lifetime costs. Furthermore, the energy saving standby operation leads to minimal energy consumption.

ROFIN fibre lasers are highly efficient, compact and meet the requirements of harsh industrial environments, thanks to the modular and robust design. The FL 060 in the Standard version offers a separated enclosure for beam management and provides up to four fibres for time or energy sharing. By using process fibres with diameters from 100 µm up to 1,000 µm, the beam quality can be ideally adapted to the specific application task. Hence fibre lasers become a universal tool for industrial production.

For direct integration into existing machine concepts, ROFIN has an extremely compact model from its high-power fibre laser family on show with the FL 040 C. With an output power of 4 kW, the FL 040 C is available as a multi-mode laser with a 50 µm or 100 µm fibre. By using the different diameters of the process fibre, the beam quality can be ideally adapted to the specific application task. The Compact version of the ROFIN FL Series is offered with output powers in the range of 500 to 6,000 W.

All lasers from the ROFIN Macro Group are equipped with the ROFIN Control Unit (RCU), which offers extended monitoring and control functions, resulting in improved pulse-to-pulse stability, manifold control and log functions, including E-Service.

ROFIN‘s CO2 Slab and fibre lasers are not only the perfect tools when it comes to laser cutting – they are also ideally suited for various welding applications as well as for surface treatment.
