Laser Safety Awareness training workshop 14-15 March

Laser safety training is being held at Pro-Lite Technology Ltd (Cranfield, Beds) on March 14-15. The two-day training workshop is being held in association with laser safety specialists UVEX Laservision and comprises Laser Safety Awareness training on March 14 and Laser Safety Officer training on March 15. The laser safety awareness workshop is designed for general laser users, while the more advanced safety officer training is aimed at designated laser safety officers.

The Laser Safety Awareness module explains the risks, as well as the individual's rights and responsibilities when working with lasers. Also addressed are the basic physics of laser operation, primary and secondary hazards, legal requirements as well as safety measures.

The Laser Safety Officer module builds on the Awareness training and explains the legal and legislative framework that applies to the safe use of lasers. It also explains the responsibilities and duties of the designated safety officer. Delegates will be expected to complete sample laser safety calculations.

Reference is made in both modules to the relevant laser safety standards, including BS EN 60825.

Full details, including the workshop fee and registration information, available from the Pro-Lite website, http://www.pro-lite.co.uk/File/laser_safety_tutorial.php
