Byspeed Lens Condition Monitoring

Bystronic have introduced a lens condition monitor based on laser radiation scattered from damaged and dirty lens surfaces. A sensor detects possible lens deterioration at an early stage by measuring increased levels of scattered laser radiation, stopping the cutting process and producing an error message ‘Stop due to possible lens damage' if a preset limit is exceeded. The cutting head must then be removed and the lens inspected and cleaned.

While lens deterioration cannot be avoided, it can be stopped at an early stage. The monitor minimises lens damage, prolongs lens life and increases process reliability and stability.

This enhancement has been fitted to all new Byspeed machines manufactured in 2007. All existing Byspeed machines can be updated (price on application).
