High Beam Quality ? Low Operating Costs

Trumpf has expanded its TruDiode Series. These diode lasers are now available with output power of 800, 1000, 2000 and 3000 watts for welding, brazing, hardening and heat treatment.

These industrial grade diode lasers possess a beam quality comparable to that of lamp-pumped lasers – even at high output power – all at significantly lower operating costs. In a three-shift operation, the variable costs can be up to 95 percent lower. The reason for this is the high wall plug efficiency of the diode laser, which can reach up to 40 percent. Likewise, the passively cooled diodes will ensure a long life for the TruDiode beam sources. Thanks to their modular design, the diode lasers can be easily integrated into existing production systems.

Technology concept ensures high beam quality
Trumpf has developed a new technology concept for the lasers of the TruDiode Series. This allwos the high efficiency that diode lasers provide to take place directly in the application. The heart of the Trumpf diode lasers is a fiber-coupled diode module with unsurpassed technical performance data. It will generate an output of up to 100 watts, which is coupled in a fiber with a diameter of 100 micrometer. The numerical aperture is less than 0.12. A fiber combiner links several of these passively cooled modules to achieve the desired output power. The technological concept of the diode lasers will not only guarantee high beam quality over the entire lifetime, but also a constant output power at the workpiece for reproducible application results.
