EOS exhibit at the Hanover Fair 2016

Together with five other companies, EOS presented high-end solutions for lightweight design based on additive manufacturing on an innovative stand at this year’s Hannover Fair (April 2016).

Entitled “Emotional Engineering in Lightweight Design”, the stand highlighted all facets of networking and innovation in lightweight design along the supply chain, from design creation through design engineering and calculation to additive manufacturing of components and subsequent material testing. The emphasis was on design, emotions, cost-effectiveness and environmental aspects. .

EOS demonstrated a FORMIGA P 110, a compact laser sintering system for processing plastic powders enabling a reasonably priced and efficient introduction to the world of AM. The company also exhibited examples of various lightweight designs.

The demand for lightweight design with all its advantages is prevalent in many industries. It concerns such aspects as using ever scarcer and more expensive resources more sparingly and also reaching industry-specific sustainability targets.

Maximilian Eils, Application Development Consultant at EOS emphasises, “Additive manufacturing from EOS enables rapid, flexible and reasonably priced manufacturing of products directly from 3D CAD data. Finely detailed, high strength, lightweight structures can be generated, at which conventional production procedures often fail.

“The technology offers innovative solutions for current and future challenges facing industry and gives developers maximum freedom of geometrical design.”
