Innovation at Laser World of Photonics: Intelligent solution for machine vision control by RAYLASE

RAYLASE, are to present a range of new, innovative components for accelerating laser at the Laser World of Photonics trade fair in Munich in June. This will mark the European unveiling of their new machine vision control solution with the CLICK&TEACH function. Also, the AM-MODULE, a highly integrative all-in-one solution for Additive Manufacturing and their laser deflection developments for packaging applications will also be on at show.

RAYLASE Machine Vision Control (MVC) is the machine vision solution that optimises and monitors laser processes such as marking, perforating, cutting, drilling and welding, for a wide range of materials. This is possible thanks to a coordinated system comprising an industrial camera, lenses, optical adapters, lights and the weldMARK® Vision and CLICK&TEACH software modules. MVC is capable of using reference points to automatically detect the position and rotation of parts. The laser process is adjusted according to the orientation of the part and is inspected immediately afterwards.

Click&Teach is the new intuitive machine vision software that enables a precise and easy setup of the production process and eliminates the need for time-consuming and material-intensive trial-and-error iterations. The laser job is projected onto an image of the workpiece that is to be processed and can be adjusted and optimised if required.

As an additional highlight, RAYLASE will present its new AM-MODULE for Additive Manufacturing. The AM-MODULE has been specially developed to process powdered metal alloys using bed fusion. It enables the production of very delicate and complex parts with footprints up to 500 mm x 500 mm. Typical applications for this flexible, highly integrative solution include industrial tool- and mold-making, automotive manufacturing, the aerospace industry and medical engineering. The compact design, up to four AM-MODULEs can be operated simultaneously over one construction field to accelerate the manufacturing process and create production redundancy. The 5-axis design comprises a basic module with zoom axis for the laser beam, plus a sensor module with separate focus tracking for up to 2 camera or alternative sensors.

Other stand-out products that will be on show at the RAYLASE booth (stand no. 304, hall A3) include high-power welding applications; high-precision, dynamic deflection units; and exciting application options for the packaging industry, including easy opening and paperboard cutting.
